I have been trying to print A5 paper size with Open Office Writer. When I use the Generic Printer, the first line always prints half way down the page, whether I set the Open Office "Format-->Page" setting to A5 and leave the "Printer Properties" at A4, or set these to A5 as well. The only way I can print A5 correctly with Writer, is to use KPrinter. But I have to set A5 each time in both Writer and KPrinter. As I often change from A4 printing to A5, it is a bit of a nuisance having to manually set up both Open Office and KPrinter to A5 at each change. I realise that I am being lazy! I can't understand why the Generic Printer does not work at A5 (no problems with A4), and why the only way to get a correct printout is to manually set both Open Office and KPrinter to A5. I would have thought that it should only be necessary to set the paper size in Open Office. KWord works perfectly. I can change between A4 and A5 in its "Format-->Page" settings and that's all I need to do. The Page Size setting in KPrinter is greyed out, but changes with whatever is set in KWord - unlike Open Office. Abiword starts printing the top line half way down the A5 page, but it is Open Office which I would like to sort out. Probably using KPrinter as default and automatically changing the page size in KPrinter. Has anyone successfully set up Open Office to print at various paper sizes? That is the only printing problem I have. I am running SuSE8.2 with all the patches. One computer into one parallel port Epson Inkjet. Any advice would be greatfully received. Many thanks Keith
