Probably better off waiting for the 8.2 ftp, since it'll have the fixes done for 8.1 (which IMHO, had a bit too many problems compared to 8.0, at least as I could tell from the list here). When 8.1 came out, there wasn't anywhere near the amount of 'praise' and 'things are working great' as there already are for 8.2 (this is also just how *I've* seen it). Waiting too, will let you hear even more 'it's working' or 'it's not working' stories, which you can then save the 'solutions' for, and be ready with when you do download the ftp version.
