Hi all,
Thanks for the replies regarding my previous post on the BEFSR41 router. I have since purchased one and it was a cinch to set-up.
I do have one question though. I can enable logging on the router but it sends the output to a specific ip address. How can I set-up my computer to check this port for incoming logs and output the result ? Something along the lines of how SuSeFirewall2 logs the information in the xconsole.
TIA,
Leslie
It should appear in the file /var/log/localmessages..... You configure it via the /etc/syslog.conf file. For more info on this use "man syslog.conf". This on SuSE 7.2 machine so it may differ on a newer version.. Cisco routers use the local7 entry. Don't know if your router uses it. -- -- Thanks in advance, Stefan -------------------------------------------------------------- Linux a world without borders, fences, windows and gates.....
