I don't think that at all. I realized that you are new to the scene and probably have a lot of questions. Anyway, I believe people should have the freedom to choose- including proprietary software, although I may try to dissuade them.
I like to see what people have to say about GNU/linux in general and it seems like whenever I bring it up in the linux community people back it up with a strong fire.
Like any comunity- there are all types. People are defensive sometimes because there are a lot of "MS-trolls" floating around in Linux mailinglist and news groups with no other purpose then to bash Linux. Visit comp.os.linux.advocacy sometime and you will know what I mean.
