For a while now, I've experienced a small problem with Yast2's install software module. It's not a big problem, but it bothers me that I have been unable to solve it. For that matter, a SuSE support person was also unable to solve the problem. When installing an rpm using Yast2, I am prompted to insert a CD after selecting the package(s) for installation. Clicking on the eject button does nothing. Instead, the following error message appears if I click on the "Show details" box: URL cd:///;devices=/dev/sr0 ERROR(Media:not attached) This error only occurs for the first CD, i.e., when the CD drive is empty. But I fail to see why eject fails in this case. If, for instance, the CD drive is empty and I right-click on the desktop CD icon and choose eject, the tray opens. I have a Plextor 16/10/40 CDRW, and it is the only CD drive installed in my computer. Both /dev/cdrom and /dev/cdrecorder point to /dev/sr0. As you may have guessed, ide-scsi is loaded as are cdrom and ide-cd. Other than the aforementioned problem, everything related to the CD is working as expected. The SuSE support person seemed to think that what I've described is a bug. Does anyone have any ideas aside from what's mentioned on the SuSE support site? Thanks. Rich
