Hello Graham, Wednesday, April 9, 2003, 2:57:53 PM, you wrote: GS> A [friend] of mine had a similiar problem a couple of days back. GS> You don't mention what version of SuSE you are running. Go into Yast --->> Basic Networking ---> Network card Config GS> In the bottom box you should see Already Configured Devices GS> Goto change and delete any of the entries and then press finish GS> Now restart the Network Card setup you should see in the top window "Network GS> Cards to configure" all the detected network cards. Click on configure and GS> proceed to configure each card. I have tried this before (and again just now), and also I have tried several types of reinstalls. Actually, I have the vVidia LAN disabled in the BIOS because the Win2K boot on the same machine would not work with both NIC's and since the nVidia didn't work on it's own in SuSE, I bought the LinkSys to see if that would work. As it turns out, neither does, so it seems to be something "bigger", like maybe the nForce chipset not being fully supported in v8.1. It also fails to recognize the onboard sound. I'll probably wait and try v8.2 and then buy it if it works. :-) -- Sincerely, Neil Blanchard mailto:neil.blanchard@verizon.net
