for Mozilla, you need to edit /opt/mozilla/defaults/pref/unix.js

pref("print.printer_list", "sp925 xpp kprinter"); // list of printers, seperated by spaces
                            ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
the line is approx 30% down the file.
