Even worse: if your connection drops, next time it will download everything again, even if you already have half the files. You can see what it is really downloadind by using ps to find out the command line it using to call wget - yast uses wget for downloading -. Once you know the file, you can check its size every few seconds. Actually, the files it downloads have a certain pattern (I forgot exactly), which you can use to "find" and display.
