There is a simpler version... Yast won't help you too much, though...
1. Create an ethernet interface with yast
2. cp /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 cp
/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0:1
3. Re-create eth0 with Yast
4. cp /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 cp
/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0:2
...or copy the files (same as above) and edit the aliases (eth0:1, eth0:2,
etc) file by hand
and so on...
I had the same issue, you'll get the following warnings:
eth1 IP/Netmask: 211.x.y.z / 255.255.255.0 done
eth1:1 ifup-wireless: interface eth1:1 is not available
IP/Netmask: 10.x.y.z / 255.255.255.0 done
eth1:2 ifup-wireless: interface eth1:2 is not available
IP/Netmask: 212.x.y.z / 255.255.255.0 done
Nobody knows how to get rid of those annoying messages...

Radu

Has anyone here setup an IP alias using YAST in 8.1 (pro) version? I would appreciate any help you can provide...
