Hello ALL,
Today I made a directory with Konqi "Rev Billy C Wirtz" Konqi Displayes "Rev Billy C Wirtz 424 B" But just to see how it would look I made the dir "Rev. Billy C. Wirtz" Konqi Displayes "Rev. Billy C. Wirtz 94 B"
It defies ryhme and reason that a directory name that is more characters should be listed as having a smaller size.
How can this be?
IIRC, the "size" of the directory "file" as reported in konqueror is NOT related to the lenght of the directory name but to the number of files in the directory. Just look at directories with very different file counts but similar name lengths to see what I mean. I'm currently looking at a directory with some 3760 items totalling approx 1.3GB and the size of the "directory" file is 182KB whilst the length of the directory's name is only three characters... -- Paul Cooke Registered Linux user 273897 Machine registration number 156819 Linux Counter: Home Page = http://counter.li.org/
