Yes, but all the drivers it has in it's db for ATAPI devices don't seem to be usable for the Creative.
OK, that's a pity. I didn't even know cdrecord used particular drivers for models, I thought that was just a cdrdao thing, but maybe it needs to now that it has internal ATAPI support. btw, about your question "why compile k3b instead of using the suse rpm". This may be just my ineptitude, but when I've tried to use the suse rpm for making backup copies of my DVDs, it has failed. My self-compiled versions work perfectly. I haven't investigated deeper into it, but I wonder if there may not be some function disabled in the compile, for legal reasons Anders
