I have recently been told that there is a problem with suse 8.1 and cd devices. I have a plextor cd burner on the secondary chain- master(alone); and an artec 56x cd drive on my primary chain- slave(HD is master) Is there anyway that i can fix my drives to work properly with scsi emulation? I hava already checked and i do have scsi emulation, it just points the cdrecorder to the wrong place as well as the cd rom.
What is it you want to do with them? Make one just a cd reader, or have both be cdwriters.? If you assign them to ide-scsi, they will be readers as /dev/sr0 and /dev/sr1 instead of /dev/hdb and /dev/hdc Do you have the entry in /etc/modules.conf alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
Also, does anyone know why the clock is always messed up by 2 hours even though i have it set correctly? Thanks a lot!
Your timezone is probably set wrong. Look in /etc/sysconfig/clock, maybe you have the dafault timezone set to "US/Pacific" -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
