Network SK-9821 Gigabit with copper from Syskonnect SuSE Kernel 2.4.19
My problem is that I can not get the SK-9821 Gigabit card to work. I can see and configure the card in YaST. But I keep getting the following error when booting: "ifup: Could not get valid interface name:> Skipped"
How is the card configured (as eth0)? Can you ping it, i.e. can you ping the IP address of this box? What's the output of 'ip route list' and 'ifconfig'? What's the content of /etc/route.conf? Any related stuff in /var/log/messages? Just trying to get some info for the list to work with. I'm not a network guru but I experienced this message a while ago and it had nothing to do with my kernel or ACPI. Just bad routing. [...] Kind regards, Martijn
