Hello All, I need to assemble a cheap machine, but while I don't need 3d performance I will need adequate 2d performance with 24-bit colour and preferably better than a 1024x768 desktop with a reasonable (75 Hz or over) refresh rate.
Anyone getting this sort of performance from a standard SuSE install and without too much monkeying about using any of the Intel 845G integrated graphics solutions? Most interested in replies that involve a currently produced board.
Thanks for any input Best Fergus =================== Fergus, According the XFree86 list I frequent as well, currently 845G graphics are not supported with xfree86 4.2! That version is included with both SuSE 8.0 and 8.1, so you are not likely to have much luck with that graphics right now. You can of course compile the new 4.3 version just about ready to come out, by the way, from xfree86's site. It does have support for both the i810 & i845 graphics.
