When I got my new cell phone, I looked into this so I could use the midi files for ringers. I found a couple utilities, but they were GOD AWFUL!!! MP3's ----> MIDI try to place a musical instrument with the sounds, and the midi ended up just being one instrument. It didn't even really sound like the mp3 at all. I'd like to convert mp3 files to midi (.mid) files.
Good proposals how to do this.
With difficulty I think. The methods used to construct sounds are very different. AFAIK, MIDI constructs sounds from a form of musical score and plays the 'notes' on a set of predefined instruments whereas mp3 reproduces sounds deconstructed into sine? waves and compressed. -- JDL -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
