This is what i encountered: The first year my system worked fine. After about 14 months or so i experienced frequent reboots which were more numerous if there was heavy CPU load. I tried everything (changing power management settings, check power supply,CPU fan, removed and refitted the CPU cooling unit ...) It turned out that when there was less static electricity, the reboots were less frequent. After a year of BIG misery and a lot of advice by ppl who know what they're talking about i at last concluded i had to change my motherboard: bought a ASUS K7 motherboard second hand (75 €). I had to change it anyway cos i bought an extra HD and the second IDE controller was not working either. Guess wot? Problem Solved! (i used the same fan and power supply).
