as I said , there is nothing that shows in the user privs so I am sort of spooked to really get in an rip anything apart , wildly nil , as it were.

AND I didn't mean that to refer to the stuff from Fstab but to the fact there were no obvious changes in the user privileges, as seen w/ the YaST security create user, nor even the create groups. hope that clears up any confusion, that my confusion induced <G> 3rd degree blonde today , I guess. -- j afterthought: Is this going to be a stand-up fight, sir, or another bug hunt?
