Hello, After having installed ide-scsi emulation for my CD reader/writer, I cannot use YaST2 anymore for adding/removing software. Normal mounting/unmounting of the drive and burning works fine ! I am rather sure that this is the same problem as described in the SuSE SDB document "Package installation from the CD with YaST2 not possible", i.e. that because my CD-drive has changed from hdc into sr0, it is not recognized by YaST anymore. However, the solution as given in that document does not work on my system. The document is written for Version 8.0, but I am using 7.3 After having given the command "hwscan --cdrom", I get the return message : "Segmentation Fault", and Yast2 still cannot access the CD-ROM drive. Does anybody know what I should do in Version 7.3 ? (I have searched the SDB and this mail-list, but found no solution. Thanks in advance, PS, I tried changing manually the file at /var/lib/hardware, by modifying hdc into sr0 in that file, but that had no result either. ------------------------------ Jan Elders Nuenen the Netherlands
