Could I use audio cable for more than one device? My audio cable is connected to my CD-RW/DVD-ROM and it's working fine. I would like to hear sound from my another device too without shifting the audio cable from one device to another, without opening the case, etc... thanks a.
PS-sometime when I'm browsing the DVD-ROM I wanna to play a CD in the CD-ROM.

What you are asking for for is known as a "Y" cable. In many cases it will work but I don't advise it without knowledge of the output circuitry, speaker output (aka HI power out) especially. At a low level (for test) it might appear to work. However, with both devices playing at higher levels there is likely to be a phase problem which will likely damage one or both circuits. If you are using line level out (not speaker output) then isolating with capacitors (for DC voltage blocking) and resistor (for reducing the effects of loading) would be a good idea. Problem with the above circuit is that it will alter the impedance which will likely effect the fidelity. 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~dwash " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@arrl.net Info: http://www.austinlug.org
