Hi, Thanks for the info. I was not very sure if ALSA supported sound drivers for the latest AD 1981A devices. Raghav Donn aka N5XWB wrote:

Hi,
Happy new year greetings to all!
I have loaded SuSE Linux 8.0 on my desktop with Intel D845GBV motherboard having Intel 845G chipset (both onboard audio and video). However, i was not able to get the Sound drivers for this chipset (Intel 845G) audio. The sound device is Analog Device 1981A (SoundMAX cadenza). Can anyone let me know from where i can get the audio drivers for this?
Thanks in advance, Raghav
I used to use OSS from "http://www.opensond.com" (as I remember). It worked great but required a upgrade with a new kernel. Cost was about 20 dollars US.
I will also suggest checking "alsa" for Linux. I just downloaded and compiled it for a ISA card. It is a bit of a compile understanding problem. It is now working. "http://www.alsa-project.org"
