Just a note: CUPS has become the default printing system in 8.1 and the problem you mention is explained in the Linux administration guide, /usr/share/doc/packages/suselinux-adminguide_en/SuSE-Linux-Adminguide-8.1.0.0dx86.pdf. As far as I know localhost and 127.0.0.1 should be equivalent. Check /etc/hosts for the following line 127.0.0.1 localhost and /etc/nsswitch.conf for the item "files" in the line "hosts:" hosts: files dns -- Alexandr.Malusek@imv.liu.se
