Hi, I was looking at some of the games on SuSE 8.1 and I found Falcon's Eye. Looks like a very nice interface to nethack, so I tried it. It goes through the whole intro and then when it takes you into the dungeon, it segfaults. I once got it not to segfault and then it displayd an error message that says that the 'dungeon' map is for a wrong version. So I looked at the help files, etc. and I found that falconseye 1.9.3-418 that comes with SuSE 8.1 is meant for nethack 3.3.1. But the nethack and nethack_data versions that comes with SuSE 8.1 is 3.4.0 I had a look on the falconseye web site and there it is mentioned that falcon's eye will not work with nethack 3.4.0. You might get it to work if you compile nethack 3.4.0 with some modifications made to the source (from nethack 3.3.1 source). So, is it not a little pointless to include falcon's eye if the version of nethack that it needs is not included in the distro? Or am I missing something here? Is there a way to get the two to work together? Just a thought.... :-) -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf http://www.trusoft.za.net <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <------------------------------------------------->
