Hi, Have you tried to boot with the 'noapic' option? Check these links: http://www.mandrakeforum.com/article.php?sid=2459 http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/wessels_noapic.html http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/wessels_failsafe.html Regards, Jostein
Hi,
Software: ========= OS: SUSE 8.1 Professional
Hardware: ========= Motherboard: TYAN S2603 RAM: 1GB of Rambus memory CPU: 2x Xeon 2.4 GHz Network: Integrated on Motherboard - Intel 82550 Lan controller Sound: Integrated on Motherboard - AD 1885 chipset Graphic: Asus V8460 - GeForce 4 TI
I have problems to get my network card to work. The e100 driver says always that the network cable is unplugged. I tried another network card (3COM), same behavior. I tried to recompile the kernel with different options - no success. I am pretty sure, that the problem is related to the ACPI. The Bios of this Motherboard is kind of empty, there is no ACPI anymore. The whole system including the network card runs fine under Windows XP. I really hope that somebody has an idea how to fix this.
Thanks in advance -Soeren
