Interesting - which sort of apps require this? I've not seen it, although I've admittedly only installed SuSE linux a few times (but with quite a variety of apps).
I'll let you know when I install 8.1 :-) Last time I installed previously was 8.0 in March of this year. My memory doesn't go back that far in detail. I just recall that a couple had config-file edits that I was supposed to perform, and one or two had path or environment changes I was supposed to make. Like that. I selected "everything" when I installed. /kevin
