Hi, Joe & Sesil, I have encountered strange problem after upgrading to latest apt - aptate command stopped working. It is really strange, since this tool belongs to apt4rpm package, not apt. In short, it seems now aptate is unable to read information from its config file, and even it is run with various command line switches, it aborts with error message that /var/cache/apt could not be found, althogh this directory is present and permissions are OK (I am running aptate as root). Please note I have deleted old apt and aptlib packages, and run ldconfig after installing new RPMs. The doc pages supplied with new apt do not say much. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.
Dear Andrei, I just thought you might want to check out their web site, http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ to get more tips, etc. In the directory I gave you there are source rpms if you want to recompile the packages. HTH.
