========================= Installation results =========================== /var/tmp/checkinstall.JqDitg/installscript.sh: make: command not found
**** Installation failed. Aborting package creation.
Cleaning up...OK
Checkinstall ran fine, but it looks as if you did not su-root before you ran it.
I found that make was not installed. I installed it, then did as follows: harrycg@linux:~> su Password: linux:/home/harrycg # checkinstall checkinstall 1.5.1, Copyright 2001 Felipe Eduardo Sanchez Diaz Duran This software is released under the GNU GPL. The package documentation directory ./doc-pak does not exist. Should I create a default set of package docs? [y]: y Preparing package documentation...OK Installing with "make install"... ========================= Installation results =========================== Copying documentation directory... make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop. **** Installation failed. Aborting package creation. Cleaning up...OK Bye. linux:/home/harrycg # What is up with the error "No rule to make target `install'"? I used the Suse disks as the source for the initial install. Harry G
