I removed the prpm lines, had to re-download everything again and finally upgraded all packages except the kdelibs3, failing with the MD5 checksum. Neither of your above solutions worked. When I do the RPM Hold thing I just get a help list come up. I have very carefully typed your command. Don't work. The "install" just repeats the MD5 thing because apt insists on making it an upgrade. I even went into the archives and deleted the copies of kdelibs3 that were in there before I tried it for a final time.
Hi Bob, I am the original poster and I managed to get kdelibs installed by downloading the rpm from one of the SuSE Mirrors. You should find it at ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/update/8.0/kde6/ I installed it manually with rpm -Uvh .. Seems that the package in the apt repository has some problems. -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf http://www.trusoft.za.net <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <------------------------------------------------->
