try : rm -- <filename> the double '-' tells rm not to interpret the filename as a command. see : man rm for more info. /tmp # rm -- * rm: cannot remove ` \021\022Ï\022': No such file or directory ...... rm: cannot remove ` \036\022Ï\023': No such file or directory rm: cannot remove ` ¼#Ì\022': No such file or directory rm: cannot remove `ÀV\237Î\022': No such file or directory rm: cannot remove `à»Å\022': No such file or directory rm: cannot remove `à®»Å\022': No such file or directory
Have you tried highlighting all the files with "mc" then hit F8 ? -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
