Dear all, I am in the process of justifying with my group why we should switch to SUSE and I am pretty newbbie at LINUX as it has evolved the last five years. I could not find a resolution of this problem anywhere (only some non specific advice for SUSE 6.X which did not know how to apply) so here I go: For the better or the worst I have to setup a Suse 8.0 host as a client to a Microsoft Proxy 2.0 server that is bundled with the Small Business Server 4.5. My Proxy is a dual homed machine. Its inside ethernet card is assigned to 10.0.0.2
From my suse client (which gets its IP from the DHCP server that also runs on the same 10.0.0.2 machine) I can ping all 10.0.0.x addresses and access all web servers as long as I use IPs (not DNS names) within the Proxy domain.
However, when I try to access (through Konqueror) outside sites I get the errors: " Uknown Host xxxxx " (regardless of whether the web proxy is disabled or enabled in the KDE control center) I have administrative access on both the proxy and the SUSE client host. I would really appreciate it enormously if you could provide some guidance how to solve the problem! Thank you immensely. -john m. ========================================= John G.
