I was concernned about my investment in the SuSE cd set which was rendered useless after the first apt-get upgrade. The speed and convenience of being able to install from cd was lost, a major problem for users with slow internet connections.
Is it still not possible to install from CD? Any idea why that functionality was lost? This must have happened to SuSE users using YOU as well. Both repositories (you and apt) provide the same rpms (though the apt repository provides a little more rpms).... In case you're behind a slow internet connection: there are now apt components providing patch rpms. These are small rpms and are normally installed by YOU.
