I don't see there the entries from the dhcp client daemon. Have a look at /var/log/messages as well. Are you sure you told it to start? Try to run it manually. I'm not sure what the command will be in 8.1, but I'd guess "rcdhclient restart". About the usb question, I don't know. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
