Having been playing a litttle with ntp, I now find that each time I connect to the internet, my clock (system clock, not hwclock) gets set back by one hour, presumably to UTC (we are still on daylight saving in the UK for another couple of weeks). I see the following in /var/log/messages
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oct 12 14:42:17 linux pppd[1564]: Script /etc/ppp/ip-up started (pid 1586) Oct 12 14:42:17 linux modify_resolvconf: Service pppd modified /etc/resolv.conf. See info block in this file Oct 12 14:43:01 linux SuSEfirewall2: Firewall rules successfully set from /etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2 Oct 12 14:43:01 linux pppd[1564]: Script /etc/ppp/ip-up finished (pid 1586), status = 0x0 Oct 12 13:42:58 linux ntpdate[2032]: step time server 192.43.244.18 offset -3613.966615 sec Oct 12 13:42:58 linux poll.tcpip: Try to get initial date and time via NTP from 192.43.244.18 ntp.cis.strath.ac.uk..done -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can anyone tell me what script file might contain this ntpdate command so I can remove it?
Thanks in advance TonyB
