Hi there! And 1h45 later 'An error occured during installation' on a blue screen (...) in a red window ... Any idea? TIA Laotoma (I feel a bit lonely on this install ...) On Monday, October 7, 2002, at 05:34 AM, Lao Toma wrote:
Hi there ...
I gave up trying to fix that 'EBDA too big' boot error.
So I booted from the SuSE 8.1 upgrade DVD and started the upgrade process about 7 hours ago ... YAST@ proudly indicates that 26% of the upgrade has now been done and that I only have to wait for another 26h35m07s for the installation to end ..
Mind you, the DVD is read from time to time, I can switch from 'details' to 'Slide Show', there is some plenty of HDD activity and the timer moves down (26:26:52 now, and it did not take me 9 minutes since I typed last paragraph ... now 17h57m17s and 34% done). When I tried first time to upgrade I remember that I got 'stuck' (or was I, after second thought?) at 82% with another 6or 7 hours to go after 8 hours already spent.
I know I have very little space left on the Linux partition. Could it be the reason? As I have about 3Gb left on Windows C: and about 2Gb on Windows D:, how could I allocate some of these spaces to the Linux partition:
What should I do?
1- Let the 8.1 updateprocess run till the end of time aand hope forthe best? or 2- Stop the 9.1 update process, have a go at Partition Magic and then redo the 8.1 update?
TIA
