Folks, After placing a support call to SuSE, I was told I could make my partition size as bug as I wanted. Well, instead of making multiple 2GB partitions to get total swap of 4.5GB, I made one partition of that size. I then installed SuSE 8.0 which proceeded just fine. However, when I checked swap size with swapon, it showed I had 2GB only!! I really would hate to repartition and mess with my disk, but does anyone know if there is a patch for this? If SuSE/Linux can support ext2/reiserfs/etc... partition sizes or 20G, 50G, etc... why is swap limited to 2G? clearly this is not an address / architecture issue. Any ideas?
