I think by their nature, ide cd-writers are scsi-emulation. I have one, but it is not mentioned in Menu.list:
# # options
timeout=5 # splashscreen = (hd0,1)/boot/message default = 0 title = LinuxA root = (hd0,1)
kernel = /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda2 vga=791 nosmp hdd=ide-scsi initrd = /boot/initrd
title = Failsafe root = (hd0,1)
kernel = /boot/vmlinuz.suse root=/dev/hda2 vga=791 ide=nodma apm=off acpi=off nosmp hdd=ide-scsi initrd = /boot/initrd.suse
title = LinuxB root = (hd1,4) kernel = /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb5 vga=791 nosmp hdd=ide-scsi initrd = /boot/initrd
title = Windows98 root = (hd0,0) makeactive chainloader +1 Hi Ed Thanks very much for the info...
