1. Remove the file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-dsl0 2. Remove the file /etc/sysconfig/network/providers/dsl-provider0
Run Yast DSL Configuration and answer NO to the quesiton, Are You Using T-Online as your DSL provider.
If your router is doing the DSL connection for you and you are receiving an IP from the DHCP server of the router (or you set a fixed ip) whay do you want to set up DSL with YaST2
Cuz T-online has real funky settings; not just a username and password but rather a line ID, username and suffix and password. Course you could just format it yourself (I didn't know cause they didn't tell me till much later, and it's not in the documentation which is made for windows users using T-online's proprietary dialing software): lineID+username+suffix@t-online.de EX: 123456152610002673672672670001@t-online.de where line id = 12345615261 user name = 000267367267267 Suffix = 0001 But I digress. Suse obviously felt that there were enough dolts like me out there who would need to use the setuptool that they put it in there. Problem is once you tell it this once it assumes you're a dolt and doesn't let you escape.
