Cause YaST2 configures the IDE/SCSI emulation for the burner correctly and creates a link of /dev/cdrecorder -> /dev/sr0, but /dev/cdrom continues to point to the IDE device, for example, -> /dev/hdc Solution Log in as root and create a link with the following command ln -sf /dev/sr0 /dev/cdrom ---Snip--- Thanks again, Marcel PS: StarOffice 6.0 is pretty nice.
