Thanks - I think I'll give that a try. Which packages did you use from nvidia? RPMs, src.rpms, tar files, ? I've tried them all, but I'll go w/ what seems to work! Also, isn't mesasoft still needed for some other packages - like some Gnome stuff? I thought I read that somewhere... Last night I had managed to get rid of the glx error message by making sure there was a link in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions like: libglx.so -> libglx.so.2960...etc (can't remember the file name). But then I kept getting the message: "(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVdriver kernel module!" Sigh....... Thanks again! Nvidia problems once again... I had the the same problem. What I did was during the install I would enable 3D support. It would then tell you that you will have to download the drivers from Yast after setup has completed. Just hit OK. When you enable the 3D support you can only select 16 Bit. Make sure the nvidia packages are marked for install. Also make sure you unselect the mesasoft package. After the setup completes GLX should load. Then just run Yast and get the nvidia drivers.
