OK, the problems continue. I've found the following:
1. With the user that will not run a GUI session; I: A. Deleted the user's directory B. Recreated the user's directory (empty) C. Tried GUI login D. GUI Login failed and returned to the GUI login screen
2. With the user that will not run a GUI session; I: A. Deleted the user's directory. B. Recreated the user's directory (empty) C. Copied everything from the "sample" user's directory D. Tried GUI login E. GUI login failed and returned to the GUI login screen.
what's in the ~/.xsession-errors file ? Does the user have write permission in his home dir ?
