I repeat: edit /etc/securetty. If you do rsh -l root host you need this, you are connected to the rlogin service If you do rsh -l root host ls you are connected to the rsh service in /etc/inetd.conf. For THIS you don't need the securetty entry, but you clearly indicate you want to login in the rest of your mail! Just believe me. Add to securetty something like pts/1 pts/2 pts/3 pts/4 pts/5 pts/6 Michael
