Ok, so what am i meant to use to dial in 8.0?
wvdial wasn't installed, and when i did install it the yast2 stuff didn't change the wvdial.conf entries, ok so i manually fixed it, but, what did they expect me to use? what is Yast2 doing the changes to?
YaST2 is making changes to /etc/sysconfig/network/providers/<provider> It uses wvdial, but it generates a temporary wvdial.conf "on the fly" in /var/run/wvdial-tmp.conf when you dial using kinternet and smpppd. Those apps are the ones "they expect you to use" and they should have been set up for you when you installed 8.0 and gave your provider data. //Anders
