Having never run anything else than Kmail (since version 7.2) and never having worked on anything else I really wonder why. Have run "ps aux|grep fetch" and got following answer: root 1177 0.0 0.8 1592 548 tty2 S 0:01 0:00 grep fetch I assume that that means I have no fetchmail? The version 8.0 is a fresh install with the old home directory. Is there some log file where I could find out who put the email away? Perhaps You have fetchmail running..
