Hi all: I recently purchased and installed v8 and I am very impressed. Hear is my question. I am a single user on my home computer and would like to set it up so I can drag and drop files to or from my floppy or cdrom without all the mount , unmount stuff. That is the only thing I have found to be unuser freindly with this distro. YaST rocks. I have also asked support but I understand that may take a while so maybe someone here could help in the meantime. Thanks Gord =================== Gord, Welcome to 8.0, hope you enjoy it as much as I have so far. Actually every OS has to mount & unmount drives, disks, etc. so Linux is no different except it gives you control over it not the OS. Where Linux excels is that if the disc is odd or corrupt, you can still get away from it, whereas other OS's may just crash. If I am not mistaken and one of the more knowledgeable guys here can tell you, you can setup the cdrom & floppy to automount. I think you still have to unmount them afterwards, so I never felt the need to try it. It is just odd to you now, but will become second nature as you use Linux and you will find yourself doing it without a second thought.
Some of the things in Linux are different, but all of it is good and finding that you have more control over more of it will please you a lot! Enjoy! :o) Have a lot of fun! Patrick -- --- KMail v1.4.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.0 --- Amiga, SuSE Linux, PC Sales & Service Magic Page Products
