The Netgear MA401 blown its self up, lights out... lolol After all that trying to get it working ... it is physically dead died, tried it in both of my two laptops... ??? So I send it back to Netgear & it's not the first time this has happened too..:( Lucky me though have got a 2nd MA401 to try, and my girlfriend has 2 more that I can use...:-> I've worked out that I needed the Suse 8 sources & development packages... And also I upgraded over the top of 7.3 when I installed Suse 8.0. So instead of working out what is needed I think the best thing is to re-install Suse 8.0 fresh with sources , gcc, gpp, make, pmake etc... It's a good thing to learn by mistakes about linux, but as long as it doesn't take eons to sort out. Also have lots of patience..;) So onward christian soldiers marching as to Linux (war) lol... wireless
OK: -------------------------------------------------------------------- # cardctl ident Socket 0: no product info available Socket 1: product info: "Cisco Systems", "340 Series Wireless LAN Adapter" manfid: 0x015f, 0x0007 function: 6 (network) ---------------------------------------------------------------------
So as root with your card in a slot and as root type
cardctl ident
After installing the tools I mentioned previously there are more options.

OK, do you know the exact model and possibly the chipset ? Also, grab the tools from
http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/contrib/wireless_tools.24.tar.gz
and install them in /usr/local/bin/ after compiling. (That is if you
haven't already :-) /Dee
