Why dont you try to install the printer from YAST2 as a windows-samba printer? (instead of running samba and trying to tell it to recognize the printer)
What I have found is that SuSE version of "apsfilter" has incorporated some kind of driver (using samba) to connect to those printer without (it seems, I am not sure about this) using a sambar server running in the machine.
I just did that to configure an HP Laserjet printer installed in a Windows XP machine in my LAN, and i works great from my SuSE 7.3 station.

What about the other way, ie win2k to print to printer on suse 7.3. I've got samba up and running, and can browse the files etc on the 7.3 machine from the win2k one, but can't print. I get a 'access denied' type of error message after loading drivers, etc during the printer setup. I used to have it working fine under 6.4 but lost it when I upgraded to 7.3. As far as I can tell the settings and such haven't changed between distros. Any ideas anyone? Cheers, Bruce Dr. Bruce A.
