Hey all, I seem to be having a problem with my 56k internal ISA modem. It has worked through many versions of SuSE, but since I've installed 8.0 it has been quirky. After a reboot, the modem will not respond. At this point the cure was to shutdown and turn the main power to the computer off and then restart. Now though there is no way to get it to respond. I've even taken the card out and reinstalled it. Using wvdial as a dialer I get Sending ATZ ....blah Modem not responding. There has been nothing about the computer/bios that I've changed since using 7.3, so I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this with version 8, or if my modem is just hooped period? I checked google for answers to this and all the suggested poking around I did with wvdialconf, setserial, minicom, and pnpdump didn't really give me any insight. /dev/modem is linked to /dev/ttyS1 which has always been the case I believe and like i said, it just stopped working. I've only recently had to go back to dialup <sigh>, but need this to be working. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Mark Doucette
