Hi all, I have a number of SuSE servers out there and I am up against a problem with a Samba 2.2.1a PDC running SuSE 7.3 and Win XP access. This is my first attempt at trying to get XP to logon a to a Samba PDC Whenever the XP box tries to use the PDC to validate a logon I get the following error message:
"A trust relationship between this workstation and the Primary Domain failed"
Is this resolved in version 2.2.5 or should I start looking elswhere for the problem. I am hitting a brick wall up to now. I am able to logon to the same PDC with a Win2K box. I will forward my smb.conf file should anyone request same.
XP has a higher level of suckytude. It's not samba's fault. Some people told me that this is required to make domain logons work with XP and Samba. It's not first hand information (I didn't do it). HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters \requiresignorseal "0" You have to have a DNS server with the the same zone name as the NT domain name. The NetBIOS name of the Samba has to have an A record in the zone. You also need a CNAME record "_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs" that points to the same Samba (NetBIOS name defined above). M$ won't _ever_ play nicely. -- Silviu Marin-Caea Systems Engineer Linux/Unix http://www.genesys.ro Phone +40723-267961
