Hi: I've recently purchased a new PC and have started install SUSE 8.0 on it as one of 3 OS's using Bootmagic as the loader. Anyway, I've partitioned my hard drive with Partition magic and then was trying to do an install with Suse from my DVD/CD. The initial menu comes up and then after I Select a type of install the screen goes black and then the system eventually hangs. That is, the screen stays black and after a few seconds where the cd and hard drive are working the system just stops. I get no messages on the monitor and I've let the system sit for and hour with no response. I've tried using the safe install, text install APIC install, you name it, the same thing always happens. Now windows XP professional and Windows ME are both working fine on the system. My PC is an alienware system made up of : ASUS A7N266-C motherboard Athlon XP 2200 GHZ CPU 512 RAM 120 GB IDE harddrive Samsung DVD player and also a Sigma Designs Hollywood Plus MPEG Decoder card NVIdea GeForce3 Ti 500 video card (64MB) Creative Audigy sound card There is also a LS-100 drive (superdisk) and a standard floppy disk I have an Iomega USB predator CDR burner I also have a USB hub connected to a web camera I've tried disconnecting the USB devices and doing the install but no luck. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Brad Akron, OH
