[Please keep replies on the list] Of course you can't run xhost on server when you're telnetted into it - you're not on the X server, you would need (in the X session on server) run xhost +localhost But, I thought you wanted to run an app on server that would appear on lavonx's desktop - you have no need to run xhost on server in this case!
On Computer 2(server) I get this message and it doesn't work: server:~ # xhost +server xhost: unable to open display "" The only differencce is that I'm currently login to lavonx with a telnet session to server. What else can I try? -- James Ogley, Unix Systems Administrator, Pinnacle Insurance Plc james.ogley@pinnacle.co.uk www.pinnacle.co.uk +44 (0) 20 8731 3619 Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.0) This email was created and sent with Ximian Evolution 1.0.8 NEW: Advogato diary at www.advogato.org/person/riggwelter
