Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for setting up a home telephony system using a SuSE8.0 professional based system? i.e, having a modem answer the call, autodetecting if it is fax or not, and then being able to provide a menu system [Push 1 for...] so that it could go to various PCs on a 100MB duplex network, [which could then have voicemail if the person or machine is unavailable.
Just a pie in the sky idea.
Is there software to do this already on the 8.0 professional dvd?
I have a vague recollection that there is something to do "press 1 for..." type menu systems in one of the getty packages - mgetty maybe? Once you've captured the voicemail, you could then send it to the intended recipient as an attachement to an email, which can be played with an appropriately configured MUA. If you get it going, please tell me, as I've been thinking about doing it myself for a while... -- David Smith Work Email: Dave.Smith@st.com STMicroelectronics Home Email: David.Smith@ds-electronics.co.uk Bristol, England
